Situation: a truly exceptional terroir, just above the Echezeaux on the Champs Traversins area, right on the rocks on a hilly side. Tiny plot (19 ares) producing a few barrels only. Organic vines.
Savoir-faire: hand picked Pinot Noir grapes, in small 12 kg baskets. Low yields. Small proportion of whole bunches (not destemmed). Traditional Burgundian vinification with manual pressing and 3 weeks in wooden vats. Gravity cellared. 30% new oak. Nose: complex mix of flower (peony), fruits (blackcurrant) and spices (liquorice).Hint of milk. So promising! Mouth: nice mineral enveloppe. Subtle silky character. Fluid and delicate feeling. Superbe potential for ageing.
T-bone steak, veggie curry with mild oriental spices.
A magical, mythical terroir in Côte de Nuits, perfectly situated and extremely rare
A mouth-watering wine with a deep and serious underlying side
