Morey-Saint-Denis
Premier Cru Les Sorbets
Albert Bichot 2024
PRIMEUR
An assertive wine with controlled power. Beautiful tension and complexity.
Tasting notes
“Les Sorbets” is a Premier Cru situated at an altitude of 250 metres. Its name refers to the rowan tree, prized for its orange-red fruit, flowers and wood, which was commonly found on this parcel.
The intense bouquet exhales scents of red and black fruits (cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry...) mingled with a delicate woodiness, evolving over time towards more complex aromas (spices, undergrowth, leather...). Fleshy and full-bodied on the palate, this wine has a fine structure that makes it perfectly balanced. The long finish is silky and deliciously fruity.
Wine & food pairings - cellaring potential
Enjoy with grilled meats, mushroom risotto or an attractive cheese platter.
History
Morey-Saint-Denis lies between Gevrey-Chambertin to the north and Chambolle-Musigny to the south. The vineyard covers 94 hectares, including 41 hectares of Premier Cru, almost exclusively producing red wines. This appellation bridges the gap between the masculine character of Gevrey-Chambertin and the delicate typicity of Chambolle-Musigny.
