A high level single terroir Volnay. Shining and subtle.

Beautiful intense red colour. Harmonious and caressing nose of red fruits with a touch of spices. A real finesse in the mouth, almost delicate. Very nice potential.

Coq au vin, country-style farmer salad, slow-cooked lamb leg.
History
Italian doctor Augustino Mazzoli was captivated by Beaune’s beauty, so he elected to live there, and became one of the Hôtel-Dieu’s frst doctors, dying in 1505. One of his descendants was Jéhan de Massol, a magistrate whose name was gallicized. On his death in 1669, he bequeathed his art collection, which saved the Hospices from ruin. This Cuvée consists of Premier Crus vineyards in Les Plures and Santenots. Over 30% of them were planted between 1948 and 1959, with 51% averaging 51 years of age, and the balance being over 33 years old.
